Hello!

New to your blog and I love it. Great sense of humor and a very honesty assessment of recipes. I tried this soup but i changed it just a bit.

1) Toasted 1 TBS of caraway seeds
2) Made low fat ground turkey meatballs using the standard Worcestershire sauce, panko bread crumbs, egg, parsley, etc.

Once I got the broth simmering I cooked the meatballs for 10-15 mins. and then finished the recipe as you had it. The caraway seeds really blended well with the sauerkraut and for some reason they seemed to stick onto the meatballs making for a very tasty ball. thx so much for the recipe!

Thanks so much for this recipe! I get so much sauerkraut in my "Gemusekiste" and I don't know what to do with it.

I have just found your blog through Simmer till Done, and I am so glad I have. Just spent quite some time reading your recipes and stories.
This recipe is so quick. easy and tasty, just perfect for a wintery day.
Good luck with the house hunting.

This is delicious! I used dill instead of parsley/mint, and yum. It really made me feel better this cold evening.

I am a saurkraut junkie thanks for this recipe. Usually I am only eating it with c.b. or pastrami this is very yummie.

I just made this soup last night, after thinking about it ever since you posted this, and vegetal goodness is exactly how I would describe it. Which was perfect for rainy Portland. I don't know how it tricks me every time after a few days of sunshine, because then the rain comes back and I get sad again. However, this soup made my evening. And reaffirmed my love of sauerkraut. Thank you, thank you for a bowl of happiness

After a series of kitchen failures (3 different madeleines recipes and a flavor mismatched tagine sole), it was so nice to make this soup! Easy, satisfying, and giving me a new appreciation of sauerkraut.

I hope you enjoy your new apartment and your writing adventures! I'm glad I came back to this site after about a year's absence.

Cheers from Tokyo!
