Some days, when the skies are a malignant gray and the wind has more than just a bite to it, it takes only one little thing to cheer up yourself up. This little thing could be a tiny maple-walnut cupcake, decorated with a sunny splash of orange buttercream, nestled carefully into a white paper bag by a kind-faced man with a twinkle in his eye and the most wonderful Scottish brogue. The tightly crumbed, nutty cake is the perfect size for an after-lunch snack and cold day pick-me-up, and although it might not be the best cupcake you've ever had, it's just too pretty not to smile at.

So easy and simple to do and you are so right about cheering yourself up.
